This is my final piece. I did a batik as it was a media I had never used and was interested in. I think this piece worked well, the colours remain fairly similar in yellow - red - brown tones. I did this as I thought it provided a much more natural palette and linked better with the foetal concept. As it does have some nature reference, the foetal position may be considered as a haven and a state of protection. Batik allowed me to create an abstract piece, while still retaining some detail. The figure in placed in the foreground while the background remains as patterns. I enclosed the figure in a space as shown by the perspective lines, this promotes an sense of entrapment that I liked in a previous piece and the patterns also provide a similar sense of chaos.
This piece was meant to promote contrasting ideas, very similarly to my clown piece and ultimately, it comes down to people's perception of things on how they react to a piece.
